  • The Rainforest Alliance Learning Network (RALN) is a Learning Management System (LMS) based on the widely-used Moodle platform. Rainforest Alliance uses the RALN to to facilitate learning on the Sustainable Agrticulture Standard and many other themes across a wide range of target groups. Through the RALN, participants of face-to-face and online trainings, as well as E-courses, can enroll on different course pages, track their learning progress, test their compentencies and sumbit feedback to us, which allows for the continuous improvement of the system.

  • HOW CAN I REGISTER AN ACCOUNT?

    Go to https://learn-tst.ra.org

If you have a RALN account, please log In (an UTZ Academy Online accounts will also work on the RALN). If you cannot remember your password, you can reset your password.

If you do not yet have a RALN account, please register a new account. You should receive an email responding to your request, and after a while a second email with a link where you can self-confirm your account. Please give this some time and therefore register at least 24h before needing the account for your training.

Once your account is confirmed, log in.

In the case you received an invitation to a training, first login and then navigate to the link provided to you in the invitation email to your training. Use the enrolment key, provided in the same email, to enrol onto your training page. Your training page can now be found under “My course overview” on the dashboard page.

WHY DO I NEED TO WAIT FOR CONFIRMATION WHEN I REGISTER?

We try to avoid the creation of duplicate accounts, so that we may correctly conserve the learning history of each individual in one account, instead of separate ones. To do so, we check each new user account request against existing accounts to avoid duplicates. In the case that we find an existing account matching the information of a new account request, we will contact the requestor via any/all emails connected to the request and the existing account so that we can find a solution.

HOW CAN I CHANGE PERSONAL INFORMATION LINKED TO MY ACCOUNT?

    1. Login to the RALN

    2. Click on your name in the upper-right corner of the page

    3. Click on "profile"

    4. Click on "edit profile" on your profile page

    5. Change the information you want to change

I WANT TO RECOVER MY USERNAME/PASSWORD. WHAT CAN I DO?

If you cannot remember your username or password, please go to this page and try to recover them youself before contacting learn@ra.org.

Do you no longer have access to the email address you were using when you first made your account? Please write learn@ra.org, provide your full name, old email address, new email address and you will be helped.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR RAINFOREST ALLIANCE STAFF AND CONSULTANTS: If you have an account linked to an RA email address, you do not need to request a new username or password as these are linked to the single sign-on for RA platforms and should change automatically when these are changed. Should you have trouble logging in using the login for RA staff, please contact learn@ra.org.

  • WHERE CAN I FIND TRAININGS AND E-COURSES THAT ARE AVAILABLE TO ME?

The RALN hosts hundreds of pages for individual training events as well as E-courses. You can find these in the following places.

    • Your Dashboard is the landing page after logging in. Here, you can view the trainings and e-courses into which you are enrolled, and see the progress in each one of them. You can also view badges (digital recognitions awarded after completing certain learning milestones in the individual pages for trainings and e-courses) scrolling down on the dashboard. Please not that if you cannot find any courses directly listed under "my courses" on your dashboard page, that means that you are not (yet) enrolled into any training or e-course.
    • You can browse through all and any active trainings and e-courses, which should also be accessible through the navigation box under "search courses". Most trainings are not open to all participants, but are "targeted" and available upon invitation only. Should you want to inquire about access to any targeted trainings, please contact the trainer directly if possible.
    • Open-access E-courses and E-pages are also listed separately for your convenience. Most of these also have "guest access", meaning they can also be followed without logging in or without an account.
    • For some target groups, learning plans are available via the dashboard page in a box to the right under "your program". Learning plans inform possible learning trajectories and might display trainings that are still being developed. Please contact the training coordinators listed for each region for more information.

  • HOW CAN I FOLLOW MY LEARNING PROGRESS ON THE RALN?

The RALN is a Moodle-based learning platform that tracks your learning progress in different ways and in different places. In order for your progress to be tracked, it is important to have an account and to be logged in. You can also follow some E-courses with guest access without an account or logging in, but then your progress will not be tracked.

Please see the section on where to search available trainings and e-courses.
    • On your profile page, accessible via the top right corner of the page, you can track your courses, badges, learning plans competencies and grades.
    • On each course page, you can track your progress by the ticked boxes next to each activity and the progress box to the right.

I HAVE COMPLETED A TRAINING/E-COURSE. WHERE CAN I FIND MY CERTIFICATE?

Certificates may be awarded upon the completion of crucial milestones in a learning trajectory, becoming available automatically after the completion of key activities. This usually entails completing an assignment or exam at the end of a training or E-course. Certificates are found on individual course pages of trainings and E-courses. If you cannot find yours, please consider the following.

    • Not all trainings or E-courses issue certificates. This depends on the design and purpose of each training and E-course.
    • You might not have reached the end of your training or E-course, and might still have to complete assignments or submit feedback after which your certificate will become available.
    • Your certificate might currently be hidden from participants and will be made available by the trainer soon. If you believe you have come to the end of your training or E-course and should be provided with your certificate, please contact the trainer or learn@ra.org.

I HAVE FINISHED ALL AVAILABLE ACTIVITIES IN THE COURSE PAGE, BUT MY PROGRESS SHOWS I AM BELOW 100%. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?

If you have completed all visible activities, with a grey  "tick box" symbol for activity completion for all visible activities on the course page, but your progress wheel (course page) or progress bar (dashboard) for the training or e-course you are following is below 100%, it could be that some activities are still hidden from you. These will be made visible in time by the person managing the course (trainer). If you believe there are hidden activities that should already be visible to you, please contact the trainer and learn@ra.org.

  • HOW DO I CHANGE THE LANGUAGE IN THE LEARNING PLATFORM?

In the upper-left corner of the page, you can find a drop-down menu for available languages. Selecting a language there will change the language of the buttons, selectors and menu of the platform, and in some cases also the the content of course pages. If it doesn't change the language of course content, that means that the course has not been translated.
